Basic Rules of Rugby
The Object of the Game is that two teams of fifteen players each, observing fair play according a sporting spirit, should by carrying, passing, kicking and grounding the ball score as many points as possible, the team scoring the greater number of points to be the winner of the match. The wide variation of skills and physical requirements needed for the game mean that there is an opportunity for individuals of every shape, size and ability to participate. Because there are different variations of the game – 15-a-side, 10-a-side, 7-a-side, Tag rugby (non-contact), Touch rugby (non-contact) – there is a game to suit everyone.
