History:
One of the largest and oldest national sport associations in the country, Tennis Canada has been working towards the development of the sport since 1890. Tennis Canada oversees and manages teams for Davis Cup, Fed Cup, the Olympic Games and all wheelchair, junior and senior national teams. Being a non-profit organization, Tennis Canada sustains its activities through funding support from Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Association, the Coaching Association of Canada, the National Sport Centres and the International Tennis Federation.
There are 10 provincial tennis associations comprising Tennis Canada, along with an associate member, the Northwest Territories Tennis Association. Tennis Canada also holds membership in the International Tennis Federation, the Canadian Olympic Association, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, and the International Wheelchair Tennis Association.
