History:
As the governing body for tennis in Ireland, Tennis Ireland takes the task of managing over 200 affiliated clubs and 50,000 members. Founded in 1923, Tennis Ireland implements various develop programs on national and provincial levels for both senior and junior elite players. Among Tennis Ireland’s key result areas include: administering and regulating the game at all levels; organizing competition at various levels; developing the sport through the provision of technical, coaching and financial support for a variety of programs; and
promoting the game in the widest possible sense and specifically to the various key constituencies such as Government agencies and media. To date, it has been responsible for staging events such as the Irish Open Championships, Fed Cup, and the Davis Cup.
