Overview:
A sports development program for young ladies up to 18 years old, the American Fastpitch Association (AFA) is a non profit organization sanctioned by the federal and California state governments to administer softball. AFA facilitates year-round tournaments to cater to spring, summer, and fall playing leagues. AFA goes by an adapted version of NCAA’s rules and regulations.
Currently, AFA implements a program called the Player Promoter that aims to provide its players with increased visibility to college opportunities. The program, among others, helps players showcase their athletic, academic, personal accomplishments, and college preferences. The program is open to high school and travel teams, as well as club athletes.
