Overview:
Based in Ottawa, Softball Canada is the country’s national governing body for the sport. It is recognized by the International Softball Federation and the Canadian government. Softball Canada’s eight-member board of directors work towards the provision of a range of opportunities for its athletes, coaches, officials and provincial/territorial associations. In support of their mission, Softball Canada adheres to the principles of athlete focus, gender equity, accessibility, and values and ethics.
To date, 13 provincial/territorial softball associations make up Softball Canada. These provincial associations represent over 300,000 players registered in fast pitch, slow pitch, and orthodox leagues.
Softball Canada identified the following as its major pillars for future directions: international representation, national team governance, national championships facilitation, and domestic development.
