History:
Ireland’s governing body for both ice and inline hockey, the Irish Hockey Association (IIHA) is an organization of more than100 registered members. Founded in 1996 as a non-profit organization, IIHA is a recognized sports charity by the Revenue Commissioners of Ireland. It is also a full member of the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Olympic Council of Ireland.
As in with other hockey governing bodies, IIHA aims to foster develop and promote the sports of ice hockey and in-line in Ireland. Plans are underway to develop junior programs and youth development fair play and respect schools; as well as to learn to play programs for boys and girls, incorporating a schools program and heavily subsidizing protective equipment for all players.
