History:
A relatively new league, the World Basketball Association (WBA) “is the first professional basketball league to teach, develop, and expose players to the NBA, NBDL, ABA, CBA and International scouts, while bringing the excitement and fun of professional sports to towns across the U.S.” Just a little over a year in existence, the WBA has 15 teams from 11 states. They have played a total of 20 games during the last season, with 30 more slated for the 2005 season. One of WBA’s most important accomplishments thus far, is being able to produce the Black College All-Star game in Atlanta in 2004 to showcase promising athletes from HBCU.
