first European championship was held. In
this same year, the IGLFA established its
first governing board of directors, along

mission statement, Constitution, and bylaws.
In 1997, IGLFA started holding world championships
in Washington DC, participated in by four
women's teams, nine men's first division,
and six men's second division. World championships
ensued in 1999 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida;

Francisco in 2004.
