Overview:
Softball Australia
governs all forms of softball in all of
Australia, including its member states.
It holds the distinction of being affiliated
with the International Softball Federation,
the Australian Olympic Committee, and the
Australian Sports Commission. As in other
sports governing bodies, Softball Australia
promulgates rules and regulations for the
effective management and implementation
of the sport in the country. The federation
acts as the official arbiter for conflicts
arising among players, coaches, and teams,
among others; and imposes disciplinary actions
to violators. Softball Australia also selects
and controls teams to represent the country
and the federation in various international
competitions. It also conducts research
and development activities for improvements
in softball and its equipment.
