History:
True to its motto of “Citizenship,
Friendship, Leadership, Sportsmanship, Scholarship,”
Bobby Sox Fastpitch Softball is committed
to giving all girls the freedom and opportunity
to play softball – with the aim of
molding them into better citizens. Bobby
Sox’s unsung heroes, founders William
Honaker and Everett Skillings, devoted the
final years of their lives building a strong
foundation for the organization by establishing
administrative guides and playing rules.
Innovations unique
to Bobby Sox include a draw system that
enables a girl to be placed on a team without
having to try out; and ruling out of player
drafts and trading. Bobby Sox also requires
team managers to be women, and a gender-balanced
board of directors. |
