clock plays an important part in its history. The racquet scoring
system used in tennis comes from the hands of the game clock.
The first point scored is 15, meaning the player is about a
quarter of the way to victory. The second point is 30, showing
the player's about halfway there. The third point is 40 which
is followed by game point. If the player is at least two points
ahead of the his opponent. Love, or zero, probably comes from
the French word l'ouef, which means "the egg". |
