Overview:
Mr. Phil Ferrari, former
US National Singles Champion, is credited
for founding the World Bocce League.
Primarily created to “spread
the word” about bocce, the League
has thus far been working to promote bocce
in schools, parks, private, and public sectors
of the business community. The League also
holds clinics and demonstrations for beginners;
provides assistance in regional and national
bocce tournaments; helps fund raisers in
developing new bocce facilities; and offers
bocce clinics for referee certification.
Among others, the League’s
short term goals include introduction of
the sport to handicapped veterans; bringing
the game to people of all ages; and developing
a video for instructional and public relations
purposes.
